Enjoy the journey
I never truly understand what people mean when they say that we should enjoy the journey, not the destination. I thought that means enjoying the little things on life, but it’s not only that. It’s about experiences. Sometimes, we don’t do something because we are not sure if it’s going to be useful for us in the future. Don’t doing a course, a travel or any other thing, for example. But, we don’t think about the knowledge and experience this is going to bring to our life.
Let me show to you an example. If you got an course for free, but you never was interested in that type of course and don’t think you ever going to use this in your life, are you going to take this opportunity? I don’t know your answer, but if was “No!”, I understand why. Looks like a waste of time! Or maybe you are just afraid or worried that this is going to get on the way of everything you already have to do. Your life maybe be so busy that you don’t feel like you can do it! But there is something you going to gain with this: knowledge. Experiences for your life that even if you don’t finish the course, it’s going to shape you to become a different person, change your perspective and open new doors for you in the future. And, even thinking in the worst way, that this course is not giving you any new opportunities of work, or don’t help you to go where you want to take your life to, it’s make you grow. You will never be the same person you were before gaining knowledge. I read once that knowledge set you free. And this is true. Free of fear, doubts. Free.
I fear once. That the things would be so hard that I can deal with that. But, now I understand. I can deal with that. We’re not here to have a easy life. We’re here to grow. And growing is not easy. But that is part of life. The good things don’t come in easy way. They brag for sacrifice and effort. And even when that look like don’t worth the effort, nothing is useless. Even the worthless thing can bring us experience and knowledge we can barely imagine.
So, before letting the fear set you down, think. Do I gain knowledge with this? Can I grow with this? Is it something good this can bring to my life?
Remember to enjoy the prizes for the journey, instead of just thinking in the end.
