shocking turn of events

I found myself

not wanting

to write something

bitter today

I don't want

to write about

hypocrites

or

about the

unfair things

happening

in my life

(though,

those things

may be next)

I just want

to write about

how easily

a smile spread

across my face

and how there

was no malice

or resentfulness

in it

I want to write

about how

I could make

sarcastic comments,

mock facial expressions

or even banter with

everyone

and not think once

about being

somewhere else

I want to write

about how happy

this night made me

(even though tonight

wasn't about me)

and I guess I just did
