Fading
He stretched out a shaking hand, gently stroking a lock of my hair behind one ear. Salty tears slowly streaked down my cheeks, trickling onto his hand, mixing with his blood.
“Don’t leave me. Please don’t leave me.” I whispered, my shoulders shaking.
“Don’t cry.” He breathed, clutching my hand in his own, his breath coming out in quick rasps. His icy blue eyes were marred with pain.
“I-I'm so sorry.” I choked, the trickle of tears increasing too a stream. “I did this. I did this.”
“It’s not...your...fault.” The distance between his words scared me. I clutched his hand tighter. “I-I was the monster. I brought this on...myself.”
“Stop. You’re waisting strength. Help will come soon.” My voice cracked, and I began to sob as the light in his eyes began to dull. “You have too be alright. I need you too be alright!” I screamed.
His grip on my hand loosened, and I knew.
He was gone.
