I Am A Ship
This sea is so very dark and sad. I don’t remember when this journey began, all I know is it has been a very long time since I left that place. The place where all ships first begin their voyage. While we my come from different lands, all know a place that unlike these dreaded seas, is not foreign to us. A place we gladly set our anchors with relief, a place like home. Oh how I miss that place, a place that is now to far away.
The harsh winds and waves have made me forget what I have truly been looking for. All I can say is that I’m looking for a place where I may lower my anchor once again. A place my damaged haul can rest easy against soft golden sand. How silly that seems with every passing day. Is it a dream or a nightmare? I have yet to see.
You see there was at one point hope in this voyage. I have found land along my way, but these where false shores. Blinded by their golden sand I failed to see what lay beneath. As I approached into their shallow waters jagged rocks and riptides pushed me away. These left my haul cracked and splintered. At one point I thought I would sink, but I was patched up and slowly over time I was fixed. Well.... maybe not fixed this scares are still there. Every now and the patches come lose and have to be sealed again. However, a ship can only take so much.
If I do not find land soon eventually my haul will be broken by these harsh waters.
I set sail everyday looking for that land to rest upon, but if I do not find it soon I will be devoured by the deep dark sea.
