Different but similar
It is normal that they have different things, different aspects and sometimes even different views. But stating that they are always different in every way may be unjust for both of them.
In fact for example when you see blowing mind mathematical equations, or when you see a painter who uses chemistry to make brilliant materials to draw his paintings or when you see how geometrical shapes that are nothing but pure and brilliant geometry, used to make monuments more beautiful, you can’t think only about art although what is used is science.
On the other hand arts can be used to bring science in value. There have been a lot of creative writings that took science as subject, but more than that some writers use a scientific way in writing. Like it is art but you see a scientist through it not a writer.
I think it all depends on how you see things too. My friend once was asked about what she gained from maths because that was our field of studies. From the things she said; she told them when she studied the ‘complex’ course; then she saw how people should find solutions. How we should not give up when we come to a wall or to what looks like an end. By thinking about the element “i” in complex, they even created a whole new group of numbers and further opportunities in maths. Also she said that if you keep adding negative numbers you get a negative number, the only way to get a positive result is to include positive numbers and they have to exceed the negative ones. Like that in life she said; if we get problems and we give up to negativity, that will give us only more negative things and more problems. Like we see, she didn’t see numbers in maths, but she saw art and even life.
Science and arts both explore, seek creativity and inventions to enlighten people, if science do it through ways, products, scientific equations and so , arts do it through words, images, ideas, colours speeches and so. So like I said in the beginning, it is normal that they have differences but in deep they are similar, because they may have the same goals and they need the same elements too like creativity, working hard, learning, noticing, having an open mind…
In conclusion and in my modest opinion I think that science and art are complementary and when we can see in which ways they are close to each other then we can make brilliant and outstanding things; that would be a great gate towards creativity and getting improved.
