French Fry Girl
CAUTION: Gore and violence
I called her the French Fry Girl because she'd been burnt to a crisp
She had no hair
No ears
No nose
Her eyes were hanging out of their sockets like Newton Balls
All the fat on her body had melted off
She no longer resembled a human being
But she was still alive
"Who did this to you?" I asked
"The........Fat.........Man," she replied
Her mother knelt by her side
Weeping rivers of sorrow
And the French Fry Girl died
Right there in her arms
Her mother began screaming and shrieking
So that all the world could hear her woe
Then she whispered these words over and over
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."
I saw them once before
And I've seen them again
I see them in the gleams of big, shiny weapons
I see them in the hearts of those who think life is but a game
I see them in the eyes of an old woman as she asks me
"Why do men fight?"
And you know what?
They're still there
