Goodbye

The sun is gone.

The animals are asleep.

The sky is dark.

There is not a peep.

The lightning flashes hard.

The thunder gives loud booms.

It frightens the little ones

As they run into their rooms.

But do not be afraid.

For it will end, this nightshade.

The sun will rise.

The animals will awaken.

The sky will be bright.

This will not be mistaken.

The lightning will end.

The thunder will stop.

The children will play.

There is not a raindrop.

And so, my darling, there is no need to cry.

For this darkness, you can soon say goodbye.
