Challenge
Second degree burns.
Don’t touch.
My grandma said not to touch it.
I did anyway.
As I am crying about my first memorable self inflicted burn.
She is slicing a tomato.
I thought it was for the meal that was in the pan I was told not to touch.
Them she grabs my hand and laid that tomato slice across my tiny scorched fingers.
Within minutes the pain is eased.
The next day there weren't any blisters.
Just shiny spots.
Since then every time I touch something that I know is too hot.
I go for the tomato.
It eases the pain and minimizes the blisters.
I don’t really know how it works,
I just know that it does.
