What’s Around the Corner?
Through the dark of the alleyways he stalks.
Bill is giving off heat from the hate in his heart.
He is not known by many.
Any light that bleeds down from the city
into the alley catches fire to a multitude of items...
...Sometimes it's his jean jacket lapel...
Other times it's the gleam of his blade when the light pours down
into the catacombs of his jacket pocket...
Who does he want to silence tonight,
and why?...
The wind's picking up, and plays with the skirt of a nineteen
year old girl named Jennifer who just bought a record from the Mall...
She wants to share with a boy named Kevin her taste in music...
Hope she makes it home tonight...
...She's quite a bit farther down the alley then Bill, but Bill's headed her way...
Come what may, and it will...
The chill causes Jenny to hug her fake fur coat to her chest while walking...
She bought it at World Mission Thrift last week after she punched out at work...
Jennifer likes how it hangs off her like she's Courtney Love or some carefree musician...
She's got her makeup and her hair done, and she's wearing heels.
She's uncomfortable, but she likes how she's showing off her legs.
She likes how the snow falls down on them, and melts quickly though it stings a little...
Kevin's house is just around the corner and she's about to turn when she sees a pair of glowing eyes coming her way out of the darkness...
Who is this guy?...
He seems dead set on his direction in life, and deadly serious...
He pushes past her in a fury, knocking Jennifer flat on her ass on the ground.
"Hey, what the fuck you think you're doing asshole?"
Bill looks back for an instant, and then keeps going evaporating into the darkness ahead from which Jennifer came. Jennifer dusts herself off and heads and pulls her dress down. She's a little shaken, but continues on her way to Kevin's house. Hopefully nothing else will break her stride tonight.
