Looking Out The Window On A Snowy Night
Come hither darkness that brings forth the Raven
And thither your snowflakes, as I heed from nigh haven
Hemlock and Willow, Bayberry, Beech
Bear witness to fable this Raven may teach
She peers down at me while she perches up high
I sit at my post and look in her eye
Look closely, she whispers at this fallen flake
What do you see in this hour at stake?
What I espied was a beauty untold
The snowflake cascaded, so lucid, yet bold
I sit at my post and I conceive the unknown
Thy Raven's sound thought, nay longer alone.
