The boy in the woods..
I was told growing up that there were more humans like me.
"There are?!" Little me said in a high pitched voice. "Yes, little boy there are." Momma tree told me. "Then why don't I ever see any humans like me?" Momma tree laughed reaching down and ruffled my brown hair. "because human like yourself don't come out to these woods., others like yourself think this is a scary place." "Oh. I don't get it. Why wouldn't other humans come to such a beautiful place like this?" "Because little boy, humans are blinded by the beauty in others things, now enough of this conversation it's time for bed young man." Mamma smiles at me and waved as I went to go lay down. The rest of the night I thought about other human and how they acted and if they really do enjoy nature or not.
I never expected to meet another human like me in these woods. On my 10th birthday the trees allowed me to explore more of the forest I lived in. I was running around and found a small cabin, of course it was run down. I looked inside and found lots and lots of books. As time went by I lived in the cabin and turned it into my home and read all of the books I could find and learned a lot about the human ways and science, history, magic, etc. Over time I began to wonder what it would be like to live in the ‘city’ with other humans like me. I also started to practice nature magic my Momma would teach the arts to me after I would come back from the small cabin. The other trees helped me fix up the cabin and create more book selves for more book momma would find in the woods, maybe someone had dropped it or left it by accident but they all ended up in my small little cabin in the woods. I loved it here so quiet and it’s really easy to read. I found a tree by the cabin and made a tree house. I once read in a book that human often turned the standing trees into treehouses.
Your probably wondering what are standing trees? Well standing trees are what people or humans see in there every day life, they provide oxygen for us humans. The trees like momma tree, are wood people. They have special abilities to give themselves a human form and they don’t need to drink or eat to survive.
I lived in this cabin for 5 almost 6 years. The trees decided that I should go to human school instead of just reading books to learn about the world. They said that right outside the woods is a small town. They are going to I roll me soon. To be honest I’m scared of what other humans might think of me. I’m am a 5”7 brown haired, fair skinned, freckled faced boy. Who grew up in the woods, which I’m not complaining about I love it here but I’m afraid people will think it’s weird and not normal.
