Breaking Walls
Hurricanes come with more frequency. Snow falls where it never has before. Drought spreads like wildfire. Natural disasters are no longer so unexpected.
So we build walls. Fix and fortify. Strengthen infrastructure. We'll be ready this time.
Ignore the real problem.
It's only a short-term solution. Erecting walls-emotionally, mentally, physically-shuts out reality; we paint a pretty picture on the interior, an illusion of security.
Pressure builds from outside. These walls will come crashing down, and then we will be faced with an even more terrifying wake-up call.
Wake up now. Instead of walls, why not embrace what is in front of us?
Fix the planet. Accept what we have destroyed and do something about it. Walls can only hold so long before they crumble.
