The Letter
.
There was once a girl named Rachel who was nine. She had the ability to hear and see things outside of the normal senses. She had heightenend senses and could see and hear things naturally. Her doctor diagnosed her with having schizophrenia but her parents who were spiritual knew that their daughter was gifted nevertheless.
“Hello Mom. I saw my friend, David again today while I was outside playing in the sandbox,” said Rachel merrily.
“That’s nice sweetheart. Did he say anything to you?” asked Rachel’s Mom, Evelyn.
“Yes, he told me that he died in a car accident near our home and that he’s thirty years old,” said Rachel.
“That’s sad. The next time you see him, ask him what his last name is. Maybe we can look him up and find out more about him,” said Evelyn.
“I will Mom,” said Rachel.
That same day, Rachel went outside to play in her backyard with her doll. She had one of her friends with her too. Her friend could also hear and see things, but her parents didn’t believe her about anything that she told them about which made her sad.
“Rachel, let’s make our dolls have a tea party,” said Jill, Rachel’s friend.
“Alright, that sounds like fun!” said Rachel.
Not long after the two girls set up their tea party, David appeared. Both of the girls could hear and see him. Rachel remembered to ask him what his last name was and she asked him.
“Hello again David. What’s your last name?” asked Rachel.
“I’m David Weatherspoon. I lived three house’s away from you on the left. I’m still here because I wanted to give something to my wife, Susan. I needed to tell her that when I won Publisher’s Clearing House, she was the person I chose to pass it on to if I were to die. There’s a letter left in the drawer stating all of this from me in the hallway near the front door in a piece of small furniture. Can you go to my home and tell my wife to look in that drawer? I can’t move on until she knows this,” said David.
“I have to tell my Mom about this first and get her permission,” said Rachel.
“I’ll wait for you,” said David, then he disappeared.
“Mom, I need to go visit a house that’s three house’s away from here. David’s last name was Weatherspoon. He asked me to visit his house telling his wife Susan about a letter in a drawer near her front door in a small piece of furniture,” said Rachel.
“Alright Rachel. I’ll go with you, but first I’m going to look up David Weatherspoon,” said Evelyn.
Evelyn looked up David Weatherspoon. But there was no trace he even existed. Evelyn still decided to go over to the house with Rachel though because she believed in ghosts having unfinished business.
“Well, let’s go over to the house. There was no David Weatherspoon. I’m sure you heard right though,” said Evelyn also letting Jill come with them because she knew that she too had a gift.
“Hello. I’m Ms. Evelyn. I’m your neighbor that lives three house’s away from you on your right. My daughter has a message about your husband, David to give to you,” said Evelyn to the neighbor who answered the door.
“Hello. I’m Ms. Susan Weatherspoon. David was a nickname I gave to him. His real first name was John. David was also his middle name. You daughter may talk to me. Please all of you may come in,” said Susan.
Rachel told Lily about how she kept seeing John. She told him about looking for a letter in the drawer near her front door. Susan looked, and there indeed was a letter from John. After she read it, she thanked Rachel for telling her.
That same night, John came to say thank you to Rachel. Rachel felt sad that she’s no longer see John anymore, but understood and was happy for him. After John thanked her, he went into the light and went to the other side.
Rachel continued seeing ghosts and her Mother went with her to be sure she was alright in helping them. She also helped Jill do the same thing. Jill was happy that Rachel’s Mother believed them. When Rachel and Jill grew up, they continued to help ghosts go into the light to go to the other side.
