Ocean, My Ocean
(ok you guys this one is from a couple years ago just FYI)
As ocean wave shines and dark boardwalk sighs
The sky reaches down and, try though she might,
To touch the bright stars is not the sea’s right.
Thus in her beauty, the ocean, she cries.
Though it may seem she embraces the skies,
The sunset she hates, she can’t keep the light.
Why stays it so close? Horizon in sight?
Thus in her nearness, the ocean, she cries.
Ocean, my ocean, believe not the lie!
The heavens have heard, and give you their life,
Reflection of stars, a gift from on high.
Ocean, my ocean, I beg do not cry!
The heavens hear you, alone in dark strife,
This reflection of stars, peace from the sky.
