Spirit World. Some call them ghosts, or angels, or guides. The Japanese call it Shinto. Cultures around the world call it Shamanism. Many call them the schizophrenic ravings of lunacy. Whatever you call it, or them, write about the unseen world of spirits. Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose. $100 purse to our favorite entry. Outstanding entries will be shared with our publishing partners.
My Angel
Clementine was into all that stuff. The crystals and the oils. The tarot readings and the energy healing. If you’d told me a year ago that I’d also find myself deferring to nonsense for the answers to my pain, I’d have told you to check your tea leaves again. It’s astounding what we’ll convince ourselves of just to feel better.
Although Clem’s passing wasn’t unexpected, I still felt shock when she died. I didn’t say so, but I was sure a miracle was coming. For all the talking to angels that she had done, I was sure that one of them would pull some strings. It’s astounding what we’ll convince ourselves of just to feel better.
