I never learned that lost time is never found, so I keep wasting it ;(
I never learned that well done is better than well said ;(
I did learn that he who sows thorns should never go barefoot ;(
I never learned to blow off small faults in others, remembering that I have great ones ;(
I never learned that experience keeps a dear school, but a fool will learn in no other ;(

I did learn that having been poor is no shame, but being ashamed of it is. ;(
I never learned that he is a fool who has to show his wisdom ;(
I never learned that he who won’t be councelled can’t be helped ;(
I did learn that the sting of reproach comes from the truth in it ;(
I never learned that if a man has half of his wishes, he has double his troubles ;(
Fifty-five years old, and still so much to learn. Has anyone seen all that time I lost?
