1am
There's little to focus on
When time travels at the speed of light.
But I find one thing for certain,
Our place on the face of this earth.
Theres something we're all missing
I know it,
But not quite what.
For all I can see is shadow.
If life is so ephemeral,
Why waste it away?
While night drifts past on a cloud,
What should we do if it was day?
Would I gain courage,
Or find the friend I haven't yet met?
Should I become one of the flock.
And live in mindless peril?
Our future is uncertain but we know for now,
If we don't change our everyday.
At some point tomorrow will be a smog.
No longer what awaits underneath the veil of dawn.
So I ponder under the stars,
On the life I live.
On a brainwashed society.
And what it takes to end the foolish games,
To make it out alive.
Afterall, the present is a gift;
And tomorrow may not come.
