Man v. Nature: Beauty
Intricacies of a snowflake
the gaps of light in the canopy
are greater architecture than
our skyward follies built upon
the trappings of civilization
that bind us in the sticky strands of duty, honor, compromise
A glorious edifice cannot compare to the sheer fucking majesty
of the humblest wildflower in bloom
a bird in flight
the fog covering the light
hushing everything even sight
I adore the innovation repition revision invention wash cycle
but it cannot beat the
spontaneous burst of the sunrise
or the gradation of sunset into night
Nature creates organically
what we ever reinvent
our own genius impulses
by resenting our bindings
disdaining our ancestors
then eventually resenting our dreams
Drive ourselves forwards to the same spiral
We make beauty contrary to itself every generation
But the sunrise and sunset is always admirable; our settings always dependably pretty
around our cold hard polished diamond selves
