Beautiful fires
If you can, listen to scarabough fair(the version with only the piano, no words) as you read this story. The song makes me imagine a sort of fairy tale setting and it inspired this story.

The trees looked magical. So did the moon. So did the stars. And so did she. He watched her as he usually did when he came to the edge of forest. She sat, as she always did, staring at the stars as if she wished she could be where they were.
Her hair fell in waves of red fire that seemed to flow on. Her eyes were a dull grey colour that seemed to shine in spite of themselves. Her skin seemed to glow like a bright lamp was lit beneath her skin, like a fire raged on within her.
On this night, when the stars seemed to shine their brightest, he approached her. She was startled at first but soon relaxed. With pleasantries exchanged, they began to dance to music only heard by the trees, the moon, the stars and themselves. It was like nature played the song just for them.
They waltzed around the trees as the stars sang their song and the moon gave them light. The song seemed to play in their hearts, increasing the intensity of each moment. It hurt to hold her hands but what else would you expect when you danced with a flame princess?
Her feet burned the very ground she touched. The ground lit up with her passion as they danced. Little fires began to dance around them. The world was their ballroom, the fires were their guests and they were the couple seen as the best; dancing in the centre as the fires raged on.
The moon, seeing it's rival approach, begged the stars to stop their song. Besides, the trees, that were nothing but ash now, could no longer sing along. So the stars began to fade, as did their song.
As the sun rose and the moon left, the flame princess began to regret. Staying out so late was unacceptable. She was needed at home, the sun must not rise on the daughter of the flame king; for they were bitter rivals.
Goodbyes were said, rushed and reluctant. She left, not knowing that she had burned both him and his whole world down. He smiled, knowing she was worth it.
