You walked into a spaceship that crashed here years ago. You don't know its history, but it looks much older than its crash would suggest. It suddenly comes alive with technology when you enter, as if it was waiting for just you. Without using any descriptive language that identifies your surroundings as a spaceship, or describing technology, make us feel like that's where you are, and let us feel how you feel about it!

into the belly
of the awakening beast
greeted by forgotten language
i am enthralled
beginning first contact
proof of another
intelligent being
that thrives
in this universe
closing the space
between the known
and unknown...
red light
naturally unclean
feeds the darkness
closing in on me
one who mistook
an open entrance
as an invitation
and not
a trap for something
with steel stomachs
and kevlar claws
metal teeth
and a glass heart
that has consumed
my fatal curiosity
to feed on
