For the love of it

Sigh, I glanced around the room with white walls
I looked at my family, it was too heavy on them
The room reeked of sadness... Sigh
Then came the nurse, “Any final wish Madam”
“Yes”, I said. She came closer for her to hear me and left.
Moments later, a Pepsi and a loaf of bread came accompanied with a table, two chairs, two wine glasses and a white cloth,
My husband stared at me with tears, whilst I invited him to join me at the table.
Everything I wanted by Billie Eilish began to play as I had requested.
I ate my bread and took a gulp of my pepsi, savoring its significance in how it brought us him and I together and all the lovely memories cancer granted us with.
The tears were building up, I smiled and looked at him, “Remember when you asked me why it was always Pepsi I drank.” He chuckled “Yes, and you always said you its for the love it.”
We laughed hard but it came to an abrupt end when I started coughing and blood came out. It was time.
He carried me to the bed and stayed beside me, holding me tight.
