A Day in a Mangrove’s Life
The wind blows and I can sense the waters.
It's salty unlike the others.
"Splash... Splash..." as my roots were washed,
thinking if I am meant to last.
To climate change, they say I'm a weapon
but I'm also on the brink of extinction.
Yes, sometimes the world is unfair
but I'm a home to those that needed care.
A shelter for animals and sea creatures
while bonding with the Mother nature.
With this I've created a family
and a view that gives sanity.
I keep communities safe from the dangers of the storm
while holding tight even if it breaks my form.
Why do I need to survive the waves?
Do I really need to be brave?
The nature of mine to survive the tides
while leaning and clinging on the sides.
