lonely is beyond,

a dirt road

lonely is beyond infinity

deep in the desert

deep in the wild

no one there

only the owl,

lizard and snake

no comfort there

no other soul

no other heart

in the dark

only the slice of moon,

the silent stars,

hanging in the cold black

pasted lights

high beyond infinity

lonely is near at hand

clutching my heart with talons

with only the lifeless

to keep me company

lonely is a crowd

all wearing masks
