Chapter 1 Tamaki was walking past the dorm buildings with his best friend Mirio in the snow, when he heard panting from behind him, but he brushed it off. His anxiety sometime played tricks on him, and now was probably one of those times.
He stopped when he felt a gentle tug on his sleeve. He looked to his side, and down. The was a girl standing there. Judging by the turtle-neck covering her face, and the red coming off what Tamaki could see of her cheeks, she was just as shy as he was. When she gripped the turtle-neck and attempted to speak, she confirmed his suspicions.
Still, he wasn’t used to being sought out, or begged for attention.
The girl tried to talk again, failing once more. She covered her face with her hands, which for the most part weren’t visible, save her fingers, due to the sleeves being pulled up over them.
“Do you need something?” Mirio asked, finally noticing the girl.
She pulled a large mason jar filled with a creamy liquid out of the bag she had, and handed it to Tamaki.
“Y-you d-d-don’t kn-know me, b-b-but you s-saved my life the other d-d-day when you fought that v-v-v-vil....” she covered her eyes, and shook her head in embarrassment. “W-what I-I-I’m t-trying to say i-i-is... IT’S A THANK YOU!” She finally yelled, before bolting off.
Tamaki watched her go, holding the jar in confusement as he watched her trip and stumble.
“Wow! What is it?!” Mirio asked in excitement, staring at the jar. “There’s a note attached to it!”
The blonde grabbed it before Tamaki could protest, and started reading it aloud. “Dear sir, I am assuming I botched giving you the gift, for which I apologize. You saved my life the other day, and I am deeply indebted to you; therefore, I wanted to give you something in return. As insignificant as it may seem, I thought a jar of Homemade eggnog would do the job, and it seemed fitting for the season. If you wish for anything else, I am indebted to you, and will do anything I can to help. I do not own a phone, so if you need something, you can slip a note in the box outside the management course dorms, and I will do my best to fulfill your wishes. You are a true hero. Sincerely, Elizabeth Nott.
P.S. The eggnog is nonalcoholic.”
“W-wow.... I’ve... never had someone thank me with a gift...” Tamaki said. He looked at the jar. “What’s....eggnog?” he asked.
“I have no idea. Obviously, its a drink. Let’s try it!” Mirio said enthusiastically. Takami gingerly unscrewed the jar, and took a whiff. It smelled sweet... and strongly of cinnamon. “It smells nice,” Tamaki noted.
He hesitantly took a sip. The smooth flavor and spices rolled over his tongue wonderfully. It was absolutely delicious. “It’s amazing! Mirio, you have to try this!” Tamaki exclaimed, handing his friend the jar.
“That is good! You really lucked out!” he said once he tasted it. Takami smiled. It was these little things that made him glad he was a hero.
He wondered if he would ever see the girl, Elizabeth, again.
