Science Sacrifice
Walking to the patio of my old house, I don’t what I was doing right now. I don’t know what I would do from now on.
Thinking about our life before I disappeared... I know I haven’t left you a message but it was the only way I know to give you a nice life. But it turned out you don’t need it.
All the money neatly packed and untouched on my bed or our bed with a note.
Money isn’t everything
Right. You’re right.
“So you’re here” a voice sounded from my back, it was the voice I badly want to hear, I slowly looked at her but before I see her face an echoing slap hit my face. It’s like my world turned around.
“What the?!” I was shocked. Who wouldn’t?!
“oh you’re mad?! Really?” She was furious.
I felt like my face bulged like a tomato now… “I am not mad.” I murmured as I look at her, I can’t be mad. It’s my fault.
“You should be!” she crossed her arms and went back to the kitchen, as I follow her there I saw a bag of groceries. Does she still live here?
I looked around the house, I didn’t notice earlier… it’s clean. No dust or spider webs.
“You cleaned the house?” I ask her as she washes the fruits.
“I always clean OUR house even though I moved to my mom’s house the time you left” she then leaned herself on the sink and looked straight to my eyes. It was puffy red. “I hate you”
Guilt filled my brain, “I’m sorry” I reach her face and wiped her tears. “I’m here. I won’t be disappearing again. I’m sorry.”
“You should be.” She turned away and continued washing the fruits.
“Cold as ever eh?” I laughed, she always keep her tough personality and I like it.
“Have I told you look like a raccoon when you cr---”
“Shattaphhh!!!”
“Fine”
For decades, she waited for me. I thought she married someone else.
I look at her again, to her ring finger.
“I'm not married yet” oh she’s thinking what I’m thinking..
“Oh, I don’t know if I should be glad or not because I made you wait and that’s too long.” What am I saying…
She stopped and crossed her arms and raised her brows at me. “You should be and be glad I didn’t burn the house down.”
I should be, her favorite phrase…
“Uhh thank you?” I responded while trying to give her a smile.
She smirked and waved her hands at me, “No. Don’t smile. You don’t look cute. Stop it.” She picked up an apple and shove it to my mouth.
Eat that. You look skinny.” She stands right next to me and leaned at the kitchen sink.
Of course, I do, I had sleeping for decades.
“And you look fat, binge-eating?” I said with a smirked.
She puts down the apple she about to bite and glared at me, “You know what? ---”
“No I haven’t” I stopped
“Go back to where you came from!”
