Daughter of Apollo (a poem from A son of Aphrodite)
My heart speaks to thee,
With heartache I will forever be,
In sorrow I will never see,
How you think of me.
With my heart I know,
You are too good for me.
I can feel the weakness of my heart,
As I try to set it free.
Give me a smile, a word,
Or a message by bird,
I await to be told,
With my heart on hold.
You shine like the sun,
that your father guides.
Across the horizon,
I see you rise.
In my heart I hear your name,
My mother speaks it to me.
Aphrodite is who I blame,
With all my heart, I wish you free.
Daughter of Apollo my love is true,
I can feel my heart beat for you.
If my eyes could look to the sun so bright,
I would see your face filled with light.
As Aphrodite once told me,
All is fair in love and war.
I believe not so, for you are much more.
I love you so.
Oh, daughter of Apollo, please notice me.
I need you for me to be free.
My heart loves you, for I cannot flee.
Please, can you love me?
