I Miss
The way my soul settled on that
Very first date
The instant we hugged and felt tangible grace
The northern lights floating from
Five feet above
The way that we knew this was of
Divine love
How people would sigh whenever we sang
Or told us our love was an undeniable thing
The way you held space as my mind and heart raged
With words pouring forth as of just freed from a cage
How your love inspired me to creatively explore
How your belief in me helped me to soon become more
That I could speak my mind thought we ’oft disagreed
And no matter my rage your love strongly held me
Your soft, loving hands and your wise, gentle heart
And the way that you remained until death so us part
Beloved, I’m thankful that through all we went through
We always loved each other from the bottom of our shoe
In rememberance of my husband Mark Withey
