Johnny had a girlfriend

Her name was Billie Rae

But whenever she professed her love

He didn't feel the same.

So Johnny went out searching

For a light within the dark

And when he met Dave,

He felt that special spark.

Johnny dumped his girlfriend

Who flew into a jealous rage.

And when she found out about Dave,

She went on a rampage

First she told the preacher,

And Johnny's good old dad.

Then she told her mother

That Johnny got her bad.

But the mother talked to the preacher

And the preacher talked to the dad

And all of them decided

That Johnny wasn't so bad.

So when Johnny came home

With his brand new identity

He found a town so accepting

of who he was meant to be.
