Project Verity!
Step 1: Prosers Assemble!
Never mind the title of this post, it seemed suitable for the topic, and you got to agree that it sounds cool ^-^ And I usually don’t do two posts a week, but this seemed important, so :)
(THERE IS A PIECE OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION! IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO FIND OR ENTER COMMENTS UNDER THIS POST, PLEASE HEAD TOWARDS THE NEW BETA SITE! THERE SEEMS TO BE A SLIGHT BUG IN THE OLD SITE THAT DOES NOT LET IT DISPLAY MORE THAN 105 COMMENTS!)
So, for a few days, we have all been working on the organization of a collaborative project. Verity kickstarted the idea, and it spread out like wildfire. Everyone, including myself, is too excited about such a thing! I mean, come on, it is indeed exciting!
But, as all GDs go, we seem to be facing some dilemmas about various aspects of the project. And unfortunately, I love peacemaking. So here we are! XD
So, let’s take this down in a systematic manner. We got Problems!
A) What is going to be the core idea of the storyline? Well, it does sound like an easy thing to figure out, but stuff happens. We just got a lot and a lot of ideas. Confusion! Now, the problem behind the problem is that the storylines are all scattered around. Let’s bring it all down under a single umbrella. I want every one of you to comment here on what’s your idea for the novel. I know, I know, you have done this before. But please do it for me, *large cute puppy eyes* ^-^
You might still be wondering what change that would possibly create. Well, let’s hear it for democracy! Yes, we are going to vote one out. This post will have the comment thread sharing all our ideas about the storyline, and the next one will be the election! Pick up your Prose Voter IDs, please ^-^ And no, you don’t have to be 18. And the best part is, if you are not feeling like coming up with a storyline but just electing one out, that’s alright too!
B) Who all are in for the project!? Yes, it also seems like a petty issue. But again, confusion! Well, some of us are ready to give it a go without choosing a storyline before. Well, some of us are not. And I respect both sides. So let’s decide who all are in, for sure, after the elections. And that’s for later. And don’t worry! You don’t have to be in-for-sure to participate in the election!
C) Where do we do the project? Well, this is happily something most of us have decided. We do it here on Prose! I mean, the time zones and the global distribution of authors, we have to consider that. XD
D) Do we get to pick jobs? Well, um, maybe yes, maybe not. It is just what I felt about it. So, we are all writers, right? Did that rhyme? Oh, I am sorry about that. It’s just my brain. You all know him. So, we are all writers. And writers write chapters in a book. Let’s all write! I mean, yes, some of us prefer editing. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t write. You can be a part of both editing and writing teams! If you were to ask me, I would say that’s a win-win ^-^
PS: If you want to be a part of the editing team, please contact our authorities. Oh, I am just kidding! Share that in the comment thread too!
E) Now, this is something that should be coming later on. But I thought I would point it out here. How many breaks would there be between two chapters? Well, the preference seems to be “Let’s write on weekends!” And that’s pretty cool, but as I said, that’s for later.
The next post will feature the voting procedures and any further developments. Did I succeed in making that formal ^-^
Now, it’s time for Prosers to share their opinions! If you have a story idea, enrol it for the elections. Want to be a part of the editing team too? Let us know! Want to be a part of the project? Scream it out in the comment thread. Or maybe not scream, just type it in ^-^ Got some opinions or questions? We are all eyes and ears. Now, bring it on, Proserville!
Happy news! As of right now, we got 25 writers, 11 willing editors, 15 story ideas, and an amazing team to work with! And this will keep on being updated all the time!

The Idea Contributors:
1) @GabrielleBryant (Comic characters that come to life from the books, and the books that are coming to life are out of print, and all stored in the attic of some random dude who doesn’t know he’s supposed to be the catalyst for the last battle of humanity, by starting an auction for the books and he offers one clue--one of these books is worth millions. It’s an auction on e-bay, and they are all 99 cents. The mystery is which comic book will save the day and make a hero, and all the books begin to attract the other comics, bringing all the superheroes and villains to life....causing a cataclysmic battle between friends and families, all unaware of how to control the fates of these uncontrollable beings. The question is why, why are these comic characters coming to life, and toying with the fate of the world?)
2) @kjbaum (Mix-up of the plots!)
3) @WhiteWolfe32 ( The universe is ruled over by two “gods” (maybe aliens) who create a race of vampires to destroy humanity through romance. According to the plan, once all humans have become Vamps, they will all be killed. Vampyres: created by Merlin and Morgana to convert humans. It’s supposed to be a twist on the stereotypical vampire romance. The focus is not on the romance but the defeat of Merlin and Morgana.)
4) @ValiantRaptor47 (Any plotline in which the basic premise is Medieval-style warfare, perhaps involving subtle use cannons and primitive firearms in addition to traditional styles of fighting {as would be keeping with the style and time period}. At least two belligerent nations {but preferably many more}. The characters and plotline within this basic setup can be developed as we write it.)
5) @LiannaC (The belief was that there were only four benders; Fire, water, air, and earth, but unknown to all, there was a fifth in the shadow that could wield them all.)
6) @CalebPinnow (We all know it, Life with a Serial Killer ^-^)
7) @VictoriaBowman (7 deadly sins and virtues, living all around the world, destined to fight each other.)
8) @Mnezz (An astronaut gets stranded on a strange planet & has to do his very best to survive and figure out how to get back to Earth-home.)
9) @Raing0at (Mixing science fiction with @ValiantRaptor47′s idea! How about a Medieval Star appearing on such a battlefield?)
10) @Carissa (Some random girl, practices to be a guardian angel. She has to go on this mission to a Tartarus like thing. She has to rescue a guy and has limited time. If she fails, something terrible will happen to her.)
11) @spike1 (The scene/location/time period/season thing? No other plot decided, let it evolve over the chapters. Freedom, no constraints until the first chapter’s written! In my opinion, we should leave such things as the plot as vague as possible and just agree to abide by the previous chapters to maintain consistency.)
12) @VerityMonet (Back to the medieval style of living, with no technology, tribes to distribute a belief, and the demon dragons called Nefaries taking over the skies and the necromancer’s the cracks in the scarred earth, the end of the world has taken place and no one knows how long it has been.)
13) @EllPoet (Imagine if you will that you suffered night terrors, now if you are like me you don’t need to imagine. Now instead of having a night terror, what if that person dreamt of their own alternative universe every night to stop the night terrors. By day they lived day to day, at night whatever universe they wanted.)
14) @Jackron (How about a story of a squad of detectives hunting a serial killer whose house never seems to stay in the same place. One of the detectives is the killer and is leading the police to his local residence. Upon finding the place, the police begin searching the house, only to find that it’s a never-ending maze of traps, hidden rooms, deadly puzzles and mesmerizing illusions! When the last two are alone, the killer reveals himself, being one of the cops that seemed to have died earlier to a pit-fall trap, he lays out his master plan to them before they fall into an eternal ring of madness. Afterwards, they are let back into society to which can never be normal for them again.)
15) @Celia_Himawari (I think it would be best if everyone made a character outline, and gave that character one power or two, then proceeded to put in details, so that everyone has their own thing, then, you can come up with some ideas as to use that- [zombie apocalypse, stranded on an island, in school for the gifted like in X-men, everyone in one city {or all over the world} find they have powers and band together like the I am number four series, to name a few] If you guys choose this, and you want a picture of your character, message me, and I'll edit you a picture for your character.)
You can find more information about the ideas on the comment thread, and on the next post which will be uploaded once we have successfully assembled the whole team!
When we get the responses of the three members left to go, we will move on to the next step. That is, voting!
