Project Verity: Phase Two
The Hunger Games
People of Prose,
Today, we have all gathered here for something remarkable! We had all been in the works and discussions for some time now, and tonight, it is time for us to take the next big step! We are about to choose the storyline that we will follow in this collaborative project!
But before that, let us first appreciate what an exceptional bunch of Prosers we have assembled here for this team!
First off, the heart and soul of this project, Verity. This entire work is her brainchild. Without her, we would never have come together in this brave expedition. Yes, it might have been a difficult start for us. But from this moment on, we will prove to the world that we have come together for a reason. That what we are about to do is going to ignite a chain of something new. Something innovative. People will come together more and more, and we will help lay down the path for them. Our mistakes will be lessons of history.
And then, we got a lot and a lot of lovely Prosers, who were willing to edit this whole book for us. We all know how tiring editing could be. Yes, it could be interesting, but it need not be in the long run. And yet, look at us! We have enough and more of them! Thanks to you all!
And now, the writers! Well, this is the pack of people that are about to drive this story in directions some of us could never have presumed. The creativity, the passion, the ideas, the characters, the situations, the emotions, the love, the friendship! We are about to build all that from scratch! (Not @Scratch77, of course, ^-^) And we are going to do a great job with it!
And now, the stars of this day! The Idea Contributors! Here is the answer to why we are all here. As I said, what we have here is an exceptional bunch of people! And each of their ideas has such tremendous potential to it. And we are about to explore them, one by one, and choose the one we will be working on in this project. (And yes, you can vote for your idea, if you wish ^-^)
Now, I am going to put this out in alphabetical order. Well, it comes off impartial, and you know, got some school vibes ^-^
1) @CalebPinnow
Follows the life of a guy who grew up with a serial killer. Comedy. The main plot happens in his adulthood.
2) @Carissa
Some random girl practices to be a guardian angel. She has to go on a mission to somewhere like Tartarus. She has to rescue a man and has limited time. If she fails, something terrible will happen to her.
3) @Celia_Himawari
I think it would be best if everyone made a character outline, and gave that character one power or two, then proceeded to put in details, so that everyone has their own thing. Then, you can come up with some ideas as to use that- [zombie apocalypse, stranded on an island, in school for the gifted like in X-men, everyone in one city {or all over the world} find they have powers and band together like the I am number four series, to name a few]. If you guys choose this, and you want a picture of your character, message me, and I’ll edit you a picture for your character.
4) @EllPoet
Imagine you have suffered night terrors. (Now if you are like me, you don’t need to imagine.) Now instead of having a night terror, what if that person dreamt of their alternative universe every night- to stop the night terrors. They live day to day, at night, in whatever universe they wanted.
5) @GabrielleBryant
Comic characters that come to life from the books and the books that are coming to life are out of print! The ones available are all stored in the attic of some random dude who doesn’t know he’s supposed to be the catalyst for the last battle of humanity. By starting an auction for the books, he offers one clue--one of these books is worth millions. An auction on e-bay and they are all 99 cents. The mystery is which comic book will save the day and make a hero, and all the books begin to attract the other comics, bringing all the superheroes and villains to life, causing a cataclysmic battle between friends and families, all unaware of how to control the fates of these uncontrollable beings. The question is why, why are these comic characters coming to life, and toying with the fate of the world?
6) @Jackron
How about a story of a squad of detectives hunting down a serial killer whose house never seems to stay in the same place. One of the detectives is the killer and is leading the police to his local residence. Upon finding the place, the police begin searching the house, only to find that it’s a never-ending maze of traps, hidden rooms, deadly puzzles and mesmerizing illusions! When the last two are alone, the killer reveals himself, being one of the cops that seemed to have died earlier to a pit-fall trap. He lays out his master plan to them before they fall into an eternal ring of madness. Afterwards, they are let back into society to which can never be normal for them again.
7) @kjbaum
a) Mix-up of the plots! Now, that could be exciting!
b) There is a medieval war and a person from each side goes to spy on the other camp. They meet and so on then later discover an underlying plot to take over the world. (I am really sorry, but I missed this one out the first time around.)
8) @LiannaC
An elemental fantasy. “Fire, Water, Air and Earth. among us there is a fifth bender that wields rare, forbidden magic, so dangerous and powerful, that few can master it without giving up their lives. They say this magic can wield all of the elements on Halio” The fifth bender can steal Fire from a Fire bender, Water from a Water bender, Air from an Air bender and Earth from an Earth bender.” The planet name and the term ‘bender’ is just a place holder. An elemental story might get complex though. There would be a lot of things that we would need to preplan so that the magic system would be coherent, like how the magic works, possible limitations and things like that.
9) @Mnezz
An astronaut gets stranded on a strange planet & has to do his very best to survive and figure out how to get back to Earth-home.
10) @Raing0at
Mixing science fiction with @ValiantRaptor47′s idea! How about an Imperial Star Destroyer showing up at the Battle of Five Armies?
11) @spike1
The scene/location/time period/season thing? No other plot decided, let it evolve over the chapters. Freedom, no constraints until the first chapter’s written! In my opinion, we should leave things, such as the plot, as vague as possible, and just agree to abide by the previous chapters to maintain consistency.
12) @ValiantRaptor47
Any plotline in which the basic premise is Medieval-style warfare, perhaps involving subtle use of cannons and primitive firearms, in addition to traditional styles of fighting {would be keeping with the style and period}, with at least two belligerent nations {but preferably many more}. The characters and plotline within this basic setup can be developed as we write it.
13) @VerityMonet
Back to the medieval style of living, with no technology. Tribes to distribute a belief, and the demon dragons called Nefaries taking over the skies and the necromancer’s the cracks in the scarred earth, the end of the world has taken place and no one knows how long it has been.
14) @VictoriaBowman
All around the world, there are 14 people whose fates are intertwined. 7 of which are the 7 deadly sins, and the other 7, are the 7 heavenly virtues. Each sin and virtue is destined to battle its counterpart.
Virtues: Faith, Hope, Charity, Fortitude, Justice, Temperance, Prudence.
Sins: Pride, Envy, Lust, Greed, Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony.
15) @WhiteWolfe32
The universe is ruled over by two ‘gods’ (maybe aliens) who create a race of vampires to destroy humanity through romance.
‘Gods’ (or blasphemous aliens): Merlin and Morgana (open to development, I just like the names.)
Vampires: created by Merlin and Morgana to convert humans.
Vamps converted humans are either killed or manipulated to convert more humans.
According to the plan, once all humans have become Vamps, they will all be killed.
It’s supposed to be a twist on the stereotypical vampire romance. The focus is not on the romance but the defeat of Merlin and Morgana.
16) @GLD
Characters suffering from multiple personality syndrome. That would, actually, be an interesting story!
I am not usually sure about a lot of things. But right now, I am confident about one thing. Most of us are pretty perplexed about choosing one! Even I am! But we have to choose one.
Only one of the ideas can be chosen from the 15, but that does not mean it ends there. I wish and hope that all of these ideas will come into existence sooner or later.
And unlike last time, we have a deadline for submitting the votes. Otherwise, it can take a long time, and we all know it. So, enter your favourite before this post turns... 3 days old ^-^ Why does that sound so cute?
And you can vote either in private or in public. Just leave a comment, or send a message to @VerityMonet or @Chacko_Stephen. We will count the votes, see which idea got the most, and it will be our chosen storyline! Are we not excited about this?
If we reach a tie, maybe, we will just set a match to death XD Or we will only pick a lot. The first one sounds more interesting, though ^-^
Now, send your votes in, Proserville! It is about time we get this project running! The third post will feature the winner and any further developments. Until then, time to choose!
And one more thing,
May the odds be ever in your favour.
The Halfway Update! *drumroll* Thanks, Caleb, for that idea (: So, it had been almost 36 hours since we posted this. And right now, @EllPoet’s Idea IV leads the elections with a total of 6 votes! Followed closely by Ted(@VictoriaBowman)‘s Idea XIV which has a total of 5 votes! And Ted is closely followed by our dear resident historian(@ValiantRaptor47)‘s Idea XII with 4 votes! Now, this is tight! We also have Caleb(@CalebPinnow)’s Idea I running with 2 votes, and @spike1’s Idea VI with 1 vote! I have noticed some choosing second preferences... Um, I am sorry, we can only take one :( But keep going, guys! We can still expect huge twists in this competition! Let’s wait for it! And Cassie(@Celia_Himawari)’s Idea III is definitely under our consideration now. We don’t want our characters to have Multiple Personality syndromes XD So, that’s something we got to work on! Now, this is our halfway update! Let’s see what happens in the next half!
