Childhood Conundrums

Returning from work one day

upon my drive lie the Milky Way.

My child’s constellations cast in chalk

rewound the celestial clock.

Back to when cabbage converted to carriage

and holding hands led to marriage.

Spending my days awaiting the final bell

then always cheerful to ride the carousel.
