One Night Stance
One Night Stance, a mystery adventure where destiny has arranged for Nyema and Kweku to meet summer of 1999 at a reggae festival, honoring the life and music of the iconic, “Prince of Reggae” Dennis Brown. Nyema, a Sudanese art and film student, who is persevering through leukemia is driven by the freedom to self-express at any cost, travels every summer to explore culture and connect with people. This time her excursion is set for the “Deep South”. Nyema must overcome her fear of failure, while Kweku a zealous musician; and aspiring chef from Tobago must conquer his reluctance towards risk taking in order to gain rewards. The two nomadic spirits discover a historical African American Museum in New Orleans. An unlikely yet stimulating mind, body, and soul occurrence causes them to experience a paradigm shift. Time becomes the instrument which measures if the event was a detriment or benefit to their existence in what they refer to as Babylon.
