Johnny in The City
"Take good care in the city, my dear Johnny," a mother said as she bids farewell to Johnny, her child. Off then Johnny went, empty-handed, into the city he's been waiting to go to for months.
Johnny was assigned to be a fireman in this city. He then walked around the city, finding the fire station. When he arrived, he dressed up as a fireman, and off he went around the city.
Johnny went first to the bakery. "Can I have some bread," he asked while pointing at the bread displayed. "Sure, sure," replied the girl selling the bread. He then took the bread, paid the girl a few coins, and off he went. He plans to eat the bread later.
Johnny then went to the clinic. He sees the doctor put her stethoscope on her patient's stomach while telling the patient to "exhale, inhale". While on the road, he saw a postman walking to deliver mail to different buildings. Apparently, his letters were falling out of his bag.
Johnny crossed the street, thanks to the policemen mindlessly guiding the cars along the intersection. He looked at the building at the corner and saw on the window, people on their computers. He looked at the sign that said "Newspaper Company", and he figured out those people were making newspapers.
Johnny saw much more around the city, including a hotel, some schools, a gasoline station, and a building on fire. "Wait, the building's on fire," Johnny exclaimed as he ran towards the fire station. He caught up with the fire truck where the other firemen were sitting, and after a short while, the firemen were putting out the fire. They looked so brave on their uniforms, yet they were children living in the city.
After a long day in the city, Johnny heard his name spoken out loud. It was then the time he hated the most: home time. He refused to go out of the city, as he enjoyed his life there. But when he saw his mother getting angry, he quickly moved out of the city, empty-handed still.
When Johnny finally went out the border of the city, he put on his shoes, and went to his mother. "Seems like you enjoyed the play place," said the mother. "Yes I do, I want to go back," replied Johnny while going out of the play place.
