Failure Is Lucky, Too
With as much Irish blood as I've got, you'd think I'd have more of it. Instead I got the ability to make red hair look good, and a temper to match the gods'. I grew up scratching lotto tickets, nonchalantly scrubbing it away, but secretly hoping to win. Jumping on every opportunity that knocked, making wishes on quarters and pennies thrown at state lines. Luck, I discovered, is something we have to make for ourselves. It's about trying as many times as we can and getting it right just once.
