Dragonfly Tales
A gnome in the woods tucked under the roots in his stumpy home atop the hill. Raindrops fall down from lichen gutters. His rosy cheeks accentuate his smile and I nod hello as I pass by.
I come to a bridge in the middle of the forest with moss railings and fern end beams. Golden rays shine through the canopy and hit the bridge deck. The troll below hides from the glittery rays.
A creek babbles and the waterfall hums. The song becomes decipherable the deeper I go into the valley. I stop for a moment and through the spruce boughs I see the elves singing their river melodies.
Skunk cabbage flutters and catches my eye, white contrasting with the green and yellow like daisies in a meadow. The unicorn holds my gaze before it bounds off into the trees.
White orbs of cottongrass frame the muskeg pond, lily pads float between raindrops. A dragon fly hovers above the water and asks me how I liked the forest.
