Fridays, How I long for you.
Gone are the days of using the terminologies such as Friday and Saturday Nights.
The perceived notion of taking a breather after a hard day's work has taken a royal beating, with all the days considered as fun days or working days as a singular prospect. Planning a night out also seems to be running into the oblivious mood of a not-so-happening event. The lack of enthusiasm or the overworked 24/7 work-from-home formula has caused the diminishing trend of Friday nights.
There are times when Fridays used to be a time for data crunching because your seniors had to leave for an important meeting with the management.
Friday in general also meant interlocking your long weekend with a single day to stretch it for self-satisfaction.
I can scarcely remember my Friday nights being at home. Every alternate Friday, it was a movie plan or friends reunion. Friday night dinners or a cup of coffee overlooking the bay was a must-have in Mumbai city.
Post the pandemic, Fridays and Saturdays have all turned into a working day. Either you are working for a company or working at home, it's all the same. The feeling of partying at home has also gained an increase in individuals. The whys and Hows of uncertainty are diminishing as we learn to live one day at a time. A Friday or Monday does not make a difference if we do not live it up to our best. Every day counts and, every blessing derived is a gain, not a loss.
Writing about Friday makes me want to have a hot cup of coffee while I recover from my bout of cold and flu.
Happy Friday to all.
