Winter
Winter
Where roots grow deep and strong
And life contemplates itself
Within the stillness
Warm breath on frosted glass
Urging time to crawl to its
Next destination
Winter
We pause and take stock
Of the things we have lost
The experiences we have gained
And the wisdom that was gifted
Within the struggle
We become grateful for the internal warmth
The hands we hold
The simple abundance we maintain
The hearts connected to ours
Winter
Where the hope of tomorrow
Springs forth in our hearts
Longing for the sun to shine
The snow to melt
And life to spring forth again
For grey to give way to greens, pinks, yellows, and blues
The earth waking from its slumber
Wiping away the sleep from its eyes
Winter
We take stock of everything internal
Deep calling unto deep
Before we rise and dance again
With life anew
