Familiar.
It been a few weeks at her new job and Aria loved it. She had her own office and she being her first real case. Normally she was use to doing small cases but she landed a property dispute and planned on working her way onto criminal cases.
"Hey Aria do you want to come sit in with Mike. He has a 3 o clock with a Mr.Johnson. He will be accessing contracts for his client. I figured it can give you some idea for your case and this states property laws." Laura her boss offered.
She was a kind slightly older black woman with a pixie cut. She had light skin and stood about 5'3 in heels.
"That sounds good. I'll grab a pen and a pad and be right over." Aria smiled.
Aria adjusted her blouse knowing Mike seemed to be a a little extra. She could tell he liked her but she didn't wanna give him the wrong idea. To be extra safe she buttoned another button on her blouse before she headed out her office.
Aria made her way down the hall with her curls bouncing seeing they already were entering the meeting room as she rushed behind them.
"Hey Mike, Laura told me to sit in on your property briefing." She said entering the room looking at him.
He nodded as he looked her over.
She rolled her eyes and took a seat behind his clients.
"Sorry everyone I'm Aria." She stood back up introducing herself as her eyes fell on a familiar face.
There was the man she had shared a night with four years ago sitting across from her.
She could tell he remembered her.
The look he gave her damn near made her want to run out the room.
He was in a suit but still had a low cut. He light brown skin seemed to be flawless outside of the tattoos that peaked out of his shirt. His deep brown eyes were just as intense as the night they met.
"Mr. Johnson." Mike made him turn his attention from Aria.
The entire meeting Aria was figuring out the words to say if she could. She had barely paid any attention especially with him making occasional glances at her. Each time it was an intense look. As if he knew she hadn't told him something or as if he was trying to figure something out.
"Thanks Mike. I'm running a little late I'll go over my notes with you tomorrow?" She asked getting ready to exit.
"That's fine." Mike smiled as she ignored him.
"Have a good day." She hurried out the room not even looking at Nawf.
She looked down at her pad and had wrote Nawf's name down on the side of her notepad.
'Antjuan Johnson.'
She would have never guessed today, four years later she would have found her daughters father. Out of all places at her job. She made it to her office and let out a deep breath as she headed for her desk and tossed her pad and pen down.
"What the fuck?" She said she deeply exhaled.
She honestly hadn't braced herself for a conversation with him yet.
"Just relax." She said unbuttoning her shirt as she turned around to see her door opening.
Of course it was none other that Antjuan aka Nawf opening her door.
He was even more fine. She looked at him and his muscles seemed to have gotten more bigger she thought. Aria knew his tattoos were all covered up by the suit that he was wearing and the way he was eyeing her she wanted to rip it off of him.
"Relax?" He smiled shutting the door behind him.
"Uhm hey?" She said as he walked closer to her with his hands in his pockets.
"Damn just a hey. Yo ass bolted out that room. I see ain't much changed." He bit his lip.
"I uh-" she started to fumble with her fingers.
"You look good." He licked his lips.
His eyes held the same look from that night and it was drawing her in.
He stepped closer as she stepped back bumping into her desk.
He looked over at her pad and noticed his name written neatly at the top.
"So what you was lookin for me?" He asked grabbing her pad as he glanced her over stopping at her chest.
Mike burst in her office interrupting him.
"Mr. Johnson, Aria is new and they would not suggest her handling your case." Mike said walking in.
Aria exhaled deeply as Nawf didn't take his eyes off her.
"Me and her go way back. That's why I asked. It's no biggie." He smiled.
"Yes, uh we are familiar." She nodded with a small smile.
"Oh ok well Laura will have to make that call. But if there's anything else you need Mr. Johnson let me know." Mike said holding her door open waiting on him to leave.
"It was nice seein you Aria." He said emphasizing her name.
"Antjuan." She waved.
She waited for them to leave before she turned around to fix her desk and grabbed her bag.
The last month her parents offered to take Aura while she was at work. At first she was unsure but her parents insisted wanting to make up for the lost time with their grand daughter. Honestly Aria felt she was blessed. Even though her family had a falling out she was happy that they were all able to finally talk, clear the air and move past it. She knew that things would take time but she was happy with where they were at. Now with seeing Nawf Aria knew that things were going to get a little more intense.
As Aria turned around Mike stepped back in her office.
"I didn't know you two knew each other." Mike said looking her over.
"Yea it was a college celebration a few years back." She told him not wanting him to be nosey.
"Oh ok didn't seem like a guy you would be around the same crowd." Mike said.
"What does that even mean?" Aria asked going towards her door.
"He's, you know involved in illegal activities. Just didn't seem like the guy you would be around." Mike said.
"First, if you know what he does is illegal, why do you work for him? And second what does he do that is illegal?" Aria was getting a little irritated but also wanted to know more about Antjuan.
She of course figured he was involved in something but he couldn't be that bad she thought.
"You definitely do not know much about him. I work for him because I'm paid too. I handle his properties not his personal affairs. I guess I cannot say everything he does is illegal but he is well known for his past drug charges." Mike hinted.
"We all have a past Mike. Doesn't mean he's a criminal." She said holding her office door waiting for him to walk out.
"Maybe you don't know your old friend as well as you thought." He smirked.
"That can't be right." She said closing her door.
"Look him up." Mike said walking off.
Aria didn't like Mike. He was a grade A asshole sometimes. Even with that being thought she would take his advice on looking Antjuan Johnson up once she got home.

The next day all Aria could think about was what she read online.
Mike was right. Antjuan appeared to be heavily involved in the streets. She saw the shootouts and murders tied to his name and it terrified her. This wasn't the man she thought he would be. But then she thought his aggressiveness made sense. She sat shaking her head lost.
"Hey we're going to lunch wanna go?" Laura popped her head in her office.
"No. I couldn't sleep last night might take a nap." Aria said.
"Toddlers will do that to you. It's 11 now. I'll come get you at 1 if I don't see you walking around like you normally are." Laura smiled.
She definitely liked Aria. She was easily going to become her favorite. So far Aria had enjoyed Laura being her boss and hoped to be as good as her one day. Laura was one of the younger partners in the state and Aria knew it was from all her hard work.
"Thanks Laura." Aria smiled as she shut her door.
Aria sat back in her chair lifting her legs onto her desk.
Her mind wandered to Nawf.
Then she remembered he was dangerous as she shook her head and took a seat on the small couch by her window. Aria started to fan herself feeling a panic attack coming. Was a man like him ready for kids. A daughter? She unbuttoned her blouse and breathed deeply. After about five minutes she was finally relaxed.
She turned to a knock at her door.
"Aria?" She turned to the door to see Nawf entering.
She sat up as he shut the door behind him as he entered.
"Hey." She stood up as he looked at her.
"I was stopping by to speak with you." He said.
"Yea? Well we do need to talk." She told him.
"Look that night-" he started.
"Yeah about that night. I left kinda scared. It was a crazy night-" she tried to explain.
"Definitely a night I don't regret." he said stepping towards her.
She noticed her blouse was undone and his eyes were glued on her chest.
"Sorry, I was havin a hard time." She said grabbing at her shirt to button it.
"Aye, you ain't gotta be formal wit me. We past that." He said grabbing her waist.
"So about us talking." She said moving away.
"Yea." He said grabbing her and kissing her.
His hand unbuttoned her shirt more.
"Antjuan wait." She said pushing him away.
"I like how you say my name." He smirked backing her towards her desk.
He lifted her on it.
"Whoa stop." She pushed him away.
"My bad what's up?" He looked at her.
"Give me space." She said as he backed up letting go of her.
She didn't know why she felt intimately drawn to him. It was like the night they met all over again. His energy commanded a room.
"Yo lil ass still mean huh?" He laughed.
"Look, you can't just come in here. I'm not your lawyer." She said.
"I want you to be tho." He stepped back closer, now in between her legs.
"Just back up." She placed her hands on his chest.
"Aria stop. I been lookin for yo ass fa real." He said lifting her legs up as he pushed her further onto her desk.
"Antjuan, I have something to tell you." She looked into his face.
"Wassup." He said holding her waist and looking into her eyes.
She was lost in his eyes.
"We, I- I- I gotta gotta go." She pushed him off of her as she grabbed her phone and purse and tried to walked out her office.
She didn't think it would be this hard to say it straight forward. She was just in to much of her own thoughts that she just couldn't. Aria needed a plan, she thought.
"Aria, sit yo ass down." He told her in his demanding yet smooth voice.
"Antj-" she started and he grabbed her and kissed her.
He had been waiting to do that since she disappeared years ago.
For him she was the only woman who literally just vanished after spending a night together.
He picked her up catching her off guard as she grabbed his shoulders. He immediately started kissing on her chest and neck undoing her shirt once more.
For Aria he had been the last man she had been with. Not because she wasn't interested, she was just busy and with her daughter that she hadn't made time for herself.
"Fuck, wait." She said out of breath.
"Na c'mon." He told her already sitting her on her desk and standing in between her legs.
She tried to scoot forward but he still held her waist, pushed her skirt up and stood in between her legs.
"I cant." She said before he kissed her again.
"You can." He said undoing his pants.
"Whoa, whoa. What are you doin?" She asked as he pulled out his manhood.
It was just turning her on seeing him already hard for her.
"You already had it." He said kissing her neck standing in between her legs moving her panties to the side.
"I missed you." He said kissing her as he held he neck and pulled her close.
"Wait, we were suppose to talk-" she said in between the kisses as he pushed into her.
Nawf immediately caught her off guard taking her words out her mouth making he gasp.
He started kissing her agape mouth as He started to fuck her as she gripped on his chest. In all actuality her body wanted him but her mind was currently fucked up.
"Ant stop." She moaned shoving him off and pushing him out of her.
Aria immediately stood up and grabbed her folders and phone off the floor before running out her office.
Nawf stood with his dick out utterly confused.
He could have sworn she had given him the same look from that night. He shook his head figuring he must have come on to strong. He meant what he said about wanting her and looking for her.
Antjuan aka Nawf spent the last few years hoping to run into her again. The night they shared was definitely unforgettable for both of them but for each of them separate reasons.
He grabbed one of her cards off her desk after he got back situated and left her office closing her door.
