Oblers Paradox
We sat on the roof in the middle of the
night, listening to the deafening censorship
of sound, the quietness of pandemonium,
the muteness of an imaginary discord.
Watching a night full of shimmering lights
glowing in the dark, yet not fully brightening
the night, oh what a beautiful sight it was.
We were so young as we gazed into the
darkness above, and so was the night.
The stars were bright like a noon day sun
aligned like a tidy array of shiny pinpricks
"So why is the night sky so dark"
I asked my friend, "if there are a billion
shining stars?"
And together, in the middle of the
night, listening to the deafening censorship
of sound, the quietness of pandemonium,
the muteness of an imaginary discord,
we pondered Oblers Paradox
And then the night sky spoke to us and said,
"Like you, the universe is young and
my distant light has yet to reach you."
