What is it that actually goes in to making a human, human?
You have eyes but they do you no good if they are blind to see what goes on around you in this old word and you've been blessed with ears that if they are actually tuned in and alert you will hear the dialogue being spoken across this land (world).
You have to be willing and able to use your two hands...at times one is needed to lift those who are down up...and both are required to pull someone close to embrace and comfort the hurting. In our world there is a lot in need of comforting....
You have two feet that can get you where you need to be but when planted firmly they will help you stand for your beliefs and for those who need your support.
The Bible speaks of the most dangerous weapon - which is found on our body...that of the tongue. This tiny thing can wound so deeply with words that can crush the human spirit and the pain can be chained weight carrying a life sentence for the recipient.
You have a brain that must be active and used for the betterment of self and others. We must use reason while navigating on our journey in this temporary place we find ourselves.
Being human we all have a beating heart...which doesn't mean we have heart...there are those who have all the above stated "parts" but use none of them for good. What is desperately needed to make someone human - is a heart for others and a moral compass of doing good.
There are those that are dark evil shells walking this earth and they try to blend in to our communities, they enter our schools, our supermarkets, our hospitals, our homes, our parades....In just such a short time our hearts have been broken over and over...our tears have been shed for Uvalde, Centerville, Buffalo, Tulsa, and now Highland Park....showing compassion - that ability to feel and care for others is what makes us Human....
