It’s My Fault
My lungs ache as I struggle to breathe. It's not fair. He will carry the blame, but it's my fault. I should have been more attentive. I whisper "I'll always love you" as I draw my last breath. It was a simple game of cops and robbers -- until he picked up his father's gun.
