Promises Without Guarantee

"Promise me you'll never leave. Promise me that you won't let life tear us apart, even if we're not together. Promise me that even though we're still young, we can be in each other's lives until we die."

I didn't know what to say. I couldn't promise on behave of the future, but looking into his eyes, all I saw was hope. I couldn't take that away. I didn't want to.

So I closed my eyes and took a dive into the unknown. I said something I could never take back.

"I promise."
