Plates of Fate
Dinner was served.
A family of five.
The night was young.
Crows lurked outside.
“Pass the butter,” mother cried.
A blanket of tears choked her eyes.
Father stood and choked, grabbing his throat, he fell and died.
One by one the children dropped like flies.
