Appreciation

I walked to the top of a hill to be closer to source

To bath in the warmth nearest the sun

And place my bare feet on the grass

To ground myself in the Earth high above

I closed my eyes and listened to the universe

And was rewarded with a feeling of gratitude

A moment perfectly ordinary

And yet unlike any other

Overcome, I was moved to tears with appreciation

For such a gift

That so often goes totally unnoticed
