Wilshere wonders why Southgate brought Harry Maguire to the 2022 World Cup
Ten days before the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Gareth Southgate officially released the list of 26 England national team players on Thursday (10/11) yesterday.
The manager made a number of surprising decisions in this call-up, one of which was to include Harry Maguire's name.
Even though the Manchester United defender this season has been a substitute more often.

"It's difficult because I understand that club managers usually have favorite players. But I don't think you can do that as a manager in the national team," Jack Wilshere told talkSPORT.
"People say when he (Maguire) plays for England he rarely makes mistakes. That's true, but I don't think that guarantees him to be in the starting eleven."
"It's difficult when you have a favorite player at international level. He's clearly not playing for Manchester United!"
Wilshere thinks that AC Milan's defender, Fikayo Tomori, should have gone to Qatar and not Maguire.
"There are many other defenders who are in front of him (Maguire), especially Tomori who is not on the plane."
"Tomori is clearly ahead of him," concluded Wilshere, who has 34 caps with the Three Lions Team.
