SCORPIO SEASON
The god smiled cheekily at the goddess. He had arrived at the golden gates of this part of the divine realm to simply gaze at the beauty of one of Nyambe’s daughters.
He had not anticipated his heart almost forgetting how to beat all from the sheer delight of his soon to be wife’s shimmering presence. Her eyes shined into his, piercing into his soul. He could not help but continue to fall even much deeper at the sound of her serene, cool— and lyrical-voice. Her father had watched the two embrace from way up high in one of the branches of the jacaranda tree, in his eagle form. His daughter was delighted by the many tales of adventures her destined mate had taken. He had been to Orion’s Belt, the place where she had heard about some of her close pals visiting. They told her she had to go & see it for herself~ plenty of new stuff there like the lounge with a jacuzzi she would totally die for (not really die per se, for she’s immortal…for now.. kidding, heheh).
The day of their wedding, the god was told by the family’s mage to pay attention to the alignment of the constellations. The god simply replied, ‘Ok, roger that.’ His wife on the other hand, she took that brief message very seriously. She even went to great lengths to check in with the mage later when she had a feeling something was coming. The mage provided the goddess woth some further news: ‘‘You’re with child, m’lady!’’
She shared the news with her beloved. He leaped in the air with a bounce of joy! An heir to the throne was on its way. She laughed, and wiped the tears from her smiling eyes.
The day of the newborn’s arrival- dark clouds formed in the southern sky. Time seemed to be at a stand still as the queen gave birth to her precious baby. The King waited to see his wife, and newborn— he paced back- and forth, waiting for the door to his darling’s boudoir to be swung open.
He heard the sound of a young one bursting into tears. The King charged onward, pushed the door open leading to his wife’s private bedroom. She smiled, her eyes almost ready to close from the work she had put in to bring the new baby into this world. The King rushed to her side, and pressed his lips on her forehead.
She handed the newborn to him, and said, “Scorpius meet your father, the King of Constellie.’’ The King now smiled, too. He did question the name given to the first born, but he was not going to fight with his wife to change it.
Their little one grew, and grew. Scorpius loved being outdoors, climbing trees, learning how to take care of different breeds of the creatures in Constellie such as: the Brangswingers, Swashzards, Glickens, Druifs, Freckoes, Hershucks, Loafies, Treffalumps, and Ungars. When the mage took Scorpius for the start of the magick transfiguration practicum- Scorpius was ready for the course. The mage was not surprised at what Scorpius transmogrified into. Scorpius had even tried to sting the mage trying to show how good the trainings were going.
The King and Queen just hoped this transformation would not be done to scare any others in the realm. Scorpius gave a slight nod and promised to never try to sting anyone ever again, especially the mage. If Scorpius tried to sting the mage again, the punishment would be to remain in that form for all eternity!
