Best Friends
The word best friend means, "A person who you value above other friends in your life, someone you have fun with, someone you trust and someone in whom you confide." This definition is the ultimate meaning that describes two or more people that share a strong bond, a mutual feeling towards on another that cannot be broken. It breaks a part what true friendship is all about and what it is meant to look like. It is funny how so many people use this word like it is the common term used for every person they meet or who makes them happy in a given moment. You see, "true friendship" is like being in an actual relationship because you have to put forth effort for it to succeed. You get to know and understand that other human being on a more personal level that no one else gets to see. It should never be taken for granted or dropped when times get rough. It gets hard sometimes especially when you can't see eye to eye. The thing about friendship though is that you're supposed to trust, count on, and believe in one another to get through those rough patches together as a team. With some people however, I guess that is not the case. As soon as someone gets under their skin, hurts their feelings, or makes a mistake then they end up dropping you, or worse, they ignore you or only interact with you when they have too. I guess I will never comprehend how some minds work but at least I know I am not the one who walked away. You did.
