Night.
Laughter by day,
Silent by night.
Carefree by day,
Tortured by night.
Friendly by day,
Secrets at night.
I'd never tell,
In fear that you might
See me for me, when the world is asleep.
When not a trace of the daily bustle is to be seen,
When there's no longer anyone around to talk over me.
My brain can finally have its way.
From the darkness,
It takes a bite.
I cannot see;
Only sounds of delight.
the darker the night
the larger my fright
the stronger its might
the less I can fight
I have eaten myself whole.
For who am I
In the absence of light?
