How many wars

                          were ceased

because of filtered words--

through euphemism,

                                 flattery, deceits?

How many feelings

                               were concealed

because of words left unspoken--

wielding dead air

                           and awkward silences?

How many lives

                         were lost

because of unuttered words--

harbouring kindness,

                                 as if a sign of frailty?

How can words

                         heal or break

with the right 

                      or wrong intent?

How fragile is a soul

                                that a single word

can change its 

                      whole world?
