Solace

The darkness isn't dark,

Nor the rain so cold.

When overwhelmed and overstressed,

We find peace within ourselves. 

We find our own best company

When we come to know ourselves.

Our best friends are hiding there,

Just waiting to be found.

When society is cruel,

And friends have turned away,

We can stand beside ourselves,

And never be alone.
